Yes, this was a great experience. Loved hearing about all of their different programs and how they operate. Especially how their operations have adapted over time.

By the way, I myself have a new appreciation for the color pink.

I am in a similar position as I only have, I think, four? electives left, and am also looking to do some skills-building which I'm hoping helps in the job market. For the moment, I'm looking at the Intro to G.I.S. class, because I find mapping interesting, and it is a software skill mentioned in some job ads I've seen recently. As to my second course (I'm keeping at two) I have some emails out to various professors. One tip, because it helped yield a great class for me this term, is to look at the course offerings for G.P.I.A. (the grad program in International Affairs). If you haven't fulfilled your int'l/cross cultural requirement anything there will count; it's also good to pop out of Milano for a little context, in my opinion. If you are interested in environmental courses, they have an array available over there. I've heard good things about the Mayor, Politics, Media course with Andrew White (Milano); I'm looking into a course in NPM (with Bonnie McEwan). The course on Program Evaluation in NPM also looks like it could be a good, practical skills class, as I know that Program Admin types of positions often seek that background. I hope this helps some, and I'm keeping people posted as this "evolves"!

Hey there! Thanks for the calming words. I might (will) need more before this is all through. Re: classes - what are you taking next semester? With only three electives left, I'm feeling I have to choose carefully (and in the direction of building skills rather than piling on more theory). Your thoughts on the spring offerings?

maybe there's still hope for me....math has been the thing i am most concerned about when it comes to grad school. i have scheduled a sit-in for a couple of math-y classes in hopes of assuaging my fears.

Hey Kristen,

I was looking through active blogs tonight, searching for a grad school blog that was half-way descent. I found your's. God bless you for actually having content in your blog that's newer than June '09. The reason I'm so happy is because I'm writing a blog about my endeavors with post-grad bliss. ;) I was hoping to make a friend out of you so I would have another creative mind to share ideas with and keep motivated. If that's not you, then cool. (I'm hoping that you are interested, because there's no one else!) If you are interested check my blog out and tell me what you think. Here's the link.

Hey Chelsea! Welcome to Milano! Yes, it does get better. I was in your shoes a year ago and I felt exactly the same way. In fact, many of us have discussed what we called the 4th Week Slump. But you will definitely get the hang of everything. :)

Wow, I just stumbled upon this and as an entering Milano grad student its VERY nice to be able to browse! It's helpful to read what classes made you chew your pencils in half and which you found really interesting. I was also glad to read that Laura found the Quantitative class focused and not too difficult to work with.

Thanks guys!

Hey Guys,

This is a great idea! Keep up the good work. Maybe someone might want to bring back the Milano forum (milanotalk.com) in the future?

Best,
Hendrick
